Green is the new black

Right now I'm working on getting Green Certified. I'm hoping over the winter to fulfill the requirements and get the certification. Even though I'm not officially certified, I do have a lot of great money and earth saving techniques and materials. With winter coming around the corner, (unfortunately), there are a lot of small, but effective ways to prepare. Small things like adequate weather stripping and insulation can make a big difference for low cost. Replacing windows and doors can also save a great deal in energy costs relative to the cost of replacement. Also replacing old appliances, water heaters, and most of all your furnace will help a lot in reducing energy costs. If your furnace is less than 90 percent efficiency, it might make up the cost of replacing in just a year or two. These are just a small handful of ideas that could help you same some green and update your home. Also, there are some government tax credits for certain energy saving improvements on your home. Another way to save even more green!
I know, it's a lot to think about!
